Success Story of Jeremiah

Jeremiah Lockhart

 

Jeremiah started the STEM summer enrichment his 9th grade year. He finished all four years and received a certification in a STEM endorsement. He also won the STATE competition for Land Surveying (1st place finish and 3rd place finish), through the enrichment program he was encouraged to participate and win the National Robotics Competition in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 2017. There is place first as the National Robotics Champion in 2017. With him scoring well on the SAT, his enrichment in STEM, his leadership roles in High School, and community service earned him several scholarships to Texas A&M University. His main one was the Bill Gates Millennium Scholar. Through his 2-hour interview Jeremiah thanks the STEM enrichment program for all the projects he was able to accomplish. The interviewer told him “the Projects you did in you STEM summer enrichment has earned you this prestigious scholarship.” Jeremiah went on to also intern at Microsoft where he was offered a full-time position. He will be graduating from Texas A&M in May 2022 with a degree in B.S. Applied Engineering, then he will get relocated to Seattle to start his job with Microsoft. He gives thanks to the program, because he was quoted as saying “I got paid to go to college.”
